Development of ICT competences in students of Lima, Peru


ABSTRACT

Objective: Determine if the study in the classrooms of pedagogical innovation improves the development of capacities in information technology and communication (ICT), in the secondary education students, regarding the development of capacities ICT conventional.

Methodology: Experimental research, with post-test, with comparison group. The study population is made up of 1,141 students of the 4th and 5th year of secondary education of the Network Educational Nº 11 of the Unit of Local Educational Management of San Juan of Lurigancho in Lima. Of the total of this study population, the experimental group was formed by 581 students (265 men and 316 women) and the control group by 560 students (266 men and 294 women). The analyzed variables were procurement of information, teamwork, and learning strategies. In the research, there was a general hypothesis and three specific hypotheses.

Results: There was confirmed the general hypothesis, that the study in the Classrooms of Pedagogical Innovation improves the development of ICT capacities in the students for secondary education, regarding the development of conventional capacities in ICT. In addition, we confirmed the specific hypotheses, where the study in the Classrooms of Pedagogical Innovation improves the development of the capacities for procurement of information, capability for teamwork and capability of strategies of learning. The verification of the hypotheses was made applying the Test of Student.

Conclusions: The study in the Classrooms of Pedagogical Innovation improves the development of capabilities in ICT. Students in contact with the new ICT as the computer and the Internet have effects on human intelligence’s capacity. Students learn FROM the technology certain capabilities that are permanent changes.
